風の国と、祈りの中心
第一話で描かれたゴーディファイ王国は、四つの風によって守られた「中心のある世界」だった。
神が当たり前のように人々の中心に存在し、その中心を軸に秩序が生まれ、調和が保たれていた王国。
この構造は、とても日本的である。日本の神社仏閣もまた「中心」を持つ空間だからだ。
神社に足を踏み入れると、まず鳥居をくぐる。
それは外界と内界を分ける結界である。
参道を歩き、拝殿へ向かい、そしてその奥には御本殿がある。
目に見える中心は拝殿だが、真の中心はさらに奥、御神体の鎮まる場所にある。
そこには普段、人は立ち入らない。
中心は、“ 常に静かに守られている ”のだ。
ゴーディファイ王国も同じだった。
四つの風が王国全体を巡りながらも、真の中心は神の意志にあった。
人々はそれを疑わず、だからこそ秩序を失わなかった。
日本の神社建築がすごいのは、目に見えない中心を建築で表現しているところにある。
回廊、柱、屋根の反り、軸線。すべてが中心へと意識を導く設計になっている。
祈りとは、中心へ戻ることだ。
神社仏閣を訪れたとき、なぜ私たちは整うのだろう。
それは、中心を思い出すからかもしれない。
第一話でマキシムが言った言葉がある。
「中心が無ければ秩序を見つけられない」
これは王国の話であると同時に、私たちの心の話でもある。
思考の風、感情の風、安息の風、忘却の風･･･
これらが乱れるとき、私たちは自分の中心を見失う。
だから人は、祈るのだ。
祈りとは、何かを願う行為である前に、自らの中心を静かに確認する時間である。
ゴーディファイは遠い神統創生紀の物語だ。けれどその構造は、日本の神社仏閣とどこか似ている。
王国の四つの風は、もしかすると私たちの呼吸のようなものかもしれない。
中心がある限り、秩序は戻る。それこそが、祈りの持つ力なのである。

Episode1 : The Kingdom of Wind and the Center of Prayer
The Kingdom of Godyffai depicted in Episode I was a world with a center, protected by the Four Winds.
It was a kingdom in which the Deity naturally existed at the heart of the people, and from that center arose order and harmony.
This structure is profoundly Japanese in spirit.
Shrines and temples in Japan are also spaces that possess a center.
When we step into a shrine, we first pass through the torii gate.
It is a boundary that separates the outer world from the inner world.
We walk along the approach, proceed to the hall of worship, and further beyond lies the inner sanctuary.
The visible center appears to be the hall of worship, yet the true center rests deeper within, where the sacred object is enshrined.
Ordinarily, no one enters that space.
The center is always quietly protected.
The Kingdom of Godyffai was the same.
While the Four Winds circulated throughout the kingdom, the true center lay in the divine will.
People did not question this, and therefore they did not lose order.
What makes Japanese shrine architecture remarkable is its ability to express an invisible center through physical form.
Corridors, pillars, the curvature of roofs, and the axial lines — all are designed to guide awareness toward the center.
Prayer is the act of returning to the center.
When we visit a shrine or temple, why do we feel inwardly aligned?
Perhaps it is because we remember the center.
There is a line spoken by Maxim in Episode I:
“If there is no center, order cannot be found.”
This is a statement about the kingdom, yet it is also about the human heart.
The Wind of Thought, the Wind of Emotion, the Wind of Rest, and the Wind of Oblivion…
When these winds fall into disorder, we lose sight of our own center.
That is why people pray.
Before prayer is an act of wishing for something, it is a quiet moment in which we confirm our own center.
Godyffai is a story from the distant Mythic Era, yet its structure bears a subtle resemblance to Japanese shrines and temples.
Perhaps the Four Winds of the kingdom are like our own breath.
As long as a center exists, order can return.
That is the power of prayer.
